Cover Shot: Mist Over the Glass House Mountains
One of those still mornings where everything feels hushed — like the world’s holding its breath. I was up before the birds, chasing a hint of light and hoping for fog. Rolled out toward the lookout with a thermos of coffee and fingers crossed.
And there it was.
The Glass House Mountains rising like ancient giants out of a sea of fog. Thick and rolling, like someone had spilled milk through the valley. The peaks just poking through, scattered across the softest pink and lilac sky — that kind of pastel wash you only get for a few minutes, if you're lucky.
Didn’t say much. Just stood there for a while, soaking it in. The shutter barely clicked. I didn’t want to break the spell.
That frame ended up on the cover of Salt Magazine for Autumn 2020. Still one of my favourites. It’s not a loud photo — there’s no drama, no hard lines — just this quiet, dreamy scene that kind of settles into you. The kind of image that doesn’t ask for attention, but stays with you anyway.
Mornings like that don’t come around often. But when they do — wow.
