Stoked to have one of my wave images on the cover of the winter edition of Salt Magazine. If you haven't checked it out, Salt is an amazing free magazine covering the Sunshine Coast and features local artists and projects.
This particular morning I was wandering the headland tracks in Noosa National Park with no real plan — just seeing what the swell was doing. The park has these beautiful little rock-shelf bays where the waves do unexpected things. Swell bends around the headland, hits the shelf, and bounces back out as backwash. On the right day it creates these weird, glassy peaks that collide with incoming sets and throw up curtains of spray. It looks almost alive. It's fun to shoot because you never really know what the outcome will be and no two waves are ever the same.
You can check out the digital version of the magazine here. They did flip the image to better suit the layout of the cover.
Prints of the original image can be purchased on my store.
